So the end is near,
We are nearly there and we are finally going back to some normality, after what feels like forever.
Excited about seeing Family & Friends…. Going for meals with the girls ….. Drinks with the boys..
What have you managed to do in the last year ?
What have you learnt in the last year ?
So many people have told me that their life and the way they see their life has changed since the first lockdown..
I have personally changed jobs and started a whole new career, I also lost my business that I had worked hard to succeed with over the last 4 years. The thing I felt when I saw my business crumbling in front of me was the amount of time I was away from Family and the amount I missed out on friends. I actually realised that I didn’t have much of a life, it was so much about work and the stress and pressure of it. It was a-massive wake up call for me!
So many people seem to be reflecting on their lifestyle choices, whether that is home improvement, work choices, making more time for the people that have made and continued to make effort during lockdown.
For me we decided to knock our kitchen through unfortunately for us we started this one week before the first lockdown!! I can safely say this was one of the hardest situations with no kitchen or even knowing when it would be finished, we were very lucky and with the help of Howdens kitchens they managed to sort it for us even in the middle of the first lockdown.
Now we have the most amazing kitchen diner with bifold doors overlooking our decking and garden. We have painted the entire house and half of it again just looking for jobs I think haha.
Now we are coming into spring so its the garden projects that need to be done ready for friends and family to finally come and visit, we love to entertain, host dinner parties, or just us in the afternoon in the garden Bbq and drinks.
On our list for the garden we have
1. Repaint back of the house and walls around the decking
2. Treat the decking
3. Fill bird feeders
4. Change some of our outside lighting
5. We have an outside bar so this will need its yearly tidy and clean
6. Flowers need to be potted
7. Grass cut and seeded for those days that it rains
Everyone has their own story of the last year for me I lost my dad, changed career, extended my kitchen and my whole outlook on life has changed. I have tried to take the positives out of the lockdown and what I have learnt about myself rather than what you have missed out on this last year
Maybe look at what you have achieved, what you have changed and pat your self on the back that you have made it through the hardest time of most of our lives!!
Well done guys.
Stay safe make sure you follow guidelines set for COVID and lets all get out of this the quickest way possible.
